Carl von Ossietzkys Lebenswerk steht symbolisch für die Achtung des Menschen, die Übernahme persönlicher Verantwortung für Friedenspolitik, Erziehung und Ökologie. Es trägt dazu bei, Lebenswerte für zukünftige Generationen zu erhalten, wozu auch die Förderung der musikalischen Kultur einen Beitrag leisten kann.

Mit der Ausschreibung des 10. internationalen Kompositionswettbewerbs 2010 wollen das Institut für Musik und das Gitarren-Ensemble der Universität unter der Leitung von Axel Weidenfeld einen Grundstein für ein Repertoire leichten bis mittleren Schwierigkeitsgrads legen. Es soll Schüler, Studenten und Laien in unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen zum gemeinsamen Spiel zusammenbringen.

Es können ein Hauptpreis von 800,- Euro und ein Förderpreis von 300,- Euro vergeben werden. Die Gelder werden u.a. von der Universitätsgesellschaft Oldenburg zur Verfügung gestellt.

Anforderungen: ein Werk für Gitarren-Ensemble mit drei bis 6 Gitarren, ggf. ist auch chorische Besetzung möglich.
Instrumente: Konzertgitarre, akustische („Western-“) Gitarre, E-Gitarre
nicht möglich: Mandoline, Oktavgitarre, Bassgitarre
Skordaturen, Kapodaster-Einsatz, Präparierungen o.Ä. sind möglich.

Schwierigkeitsgrad: leicht bis maximal mittelschwer
Aufführungsdauer: bis zu sechs Minuten

Die Kompositionen dürfen noch nicht veröffentlicht und aufgeführt worden sein. Es gibt keine Altersbegrenzung. Die inhaltliche Ausrichtung der Werke ist freigestellt.

Die Werke werden anonym in fünffacher Ausfertigung erbeten, dazu ein ebenfalls anonymer Werkkommentar, sowie ein verschlossener Briefumschlag, der Namen und Adresse des Absenders und einen kurzen Lebenslauf enthalten soll.

10th International Composition Contest

The lifework of Carl von Ossietzky stands symbolically for the esteem of man's dignity and acceptance of personal responsibility for the safeguarding of human rights, of peace policy, education end ecology. It adds to the endeavour of maintaining the values of life for future generations. The furtherance of musical culture can contribute to this effort.
With the announcement of the 10th international composition contest in the year 2010 the Institute for Music and the Guitar-Ensemble of the University, directed by Axel Weidenfeld, want to lay the foundation to a repertoire of an medium degree of difficulty. It is intended to unite scholars, students as well as lay persons in a collective musical activity

A first prize of 800,- Euro and a promotion prize of 300.- Euro are being offered. The prizes are provided by UGO/University Association Oldenburg amongst others.
Requiremnets: a composition for Guitar-Ensemble with a maximum of 6 Guitars
Instruments: Concert-Guitar, acoustic (“Western-“) Guitar, elect. Guitar
Not allowed: Mandoline, Octave-Guitar, Bass-Guitar
Scordartura, the use of capo tastos, preparations, or the like are allowed
Degree of difficulty: easy - fairly difficult
Performance time: max. 6 min

The compositions handed in must not have already been published or performed before! There is no limit of age and the alignment of the content is free.

Composers are free to choose the content (style).
The first performance of the prize winning composition will take place in Oldenburg in the winter semester of 2010-2011
